- Power BI Desktop vs. Power BI Service
- Power BI ecosystem overview
- Real-world use cases
Module 2 Getting Started with Data (1.5 Hours)
- Connecting to Excel, CSV, web, and database sources
- Understanding Data Models
- Cleaning and transforming data using Power Query Editor
- Data types, filters, and transformation basics
Module 3 Data Modeling and Relationships (1 Hour)
- Creating relationships between tables
- Understanding primary/foreign keys
- Building star schema for business analytics
- Introduction to DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
Module 4 Building Interactive Reports (2 Hours)
- Creating charts, tables, KPIs, slicers, and maps
- Using filters and bookmarks
- Designing dashboards with storytelling in mind
- Tooltips and visual formatting
Module 5 DAX Essentials (1.5 Hours)
- Measures vs. Calculated Columns
- Basic DAX functions: SUM, CALCULATE, IF, etc.
- Creating KPIs and calculated metrics
- Time intelligence functions (YTD, MTD, etc.)
Module 6 Publishing & Sharing Reports (1 Hour)
- Publishing reports to Power BI Service
- Creating dashboards in the cloud
- Sharing, embedding, and setting up auto-refresh
- Access controls and role-based permissions
Module 7 Real-World Project (Optional – 1 Hour)
- Hands-on mini-project with sales/HR/finance data
- Apply end-to-end concepts: from raw data to dashboard
